HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, President of Parmarth Niketan, was joined by the Hon’ble Prem Chand Aggarwal, MLA, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and numerous dignitaries and social, community and faith leaders for a series of special events dedicated to health, happiness and the environment.

The celebrations began with a special Divyangta Mukt Bharat camp organized jointly by Parmarth Niketan and Kolkata’s Mahavir Seva Sadan and providing prosthetic limbs and physical therapy for differently-abled citizens from across the Rishikesh region. Joining Pujya Swamiji and Shri Aggarwalji were Shri Vinod Bagrodiaji of Mahavir Seva Sadan, Shri Arun Saraswatji and Sushri Ganga Nandiniji of Parmarth Niketan and so many others, all of whom created a heartwarming interaction with the Sadan team and with the many clients benefitting from their services. The occasion became even more powerful and inspiring with the realization that so many of the team-members were actually clients of the Sadan that have become the heart and soul of the effort to provide the gift of limbs to others.

Another beautiful part of the medical camp was a special tree plantation dedicated to “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” and “Ek Ped Dharti Modiji Ke Naam” in prayer for the long and healthy life of the Hon’ble Prime Minister!

The celebrations continued with the inauguration of the 14-day Swachhata Pakhwada, an inspiring initiative themed “Salute Tirangi – Celebrate Swachhata,” in which Parmarth Rishikumars rallied with Pujya Swamiji up to the Rajaji National Park as part of a significant clean-up drive in the Swargashram area designed to transform it into “Swachha Ashram”. Students from Parmarth Gurukul and Swargashram Trust Sanskrit Vidyalaya, along with Acharyas, the Taxi Association of Swargashram, Forest Officers of the Rajaji National Park, and Safai Mitras of this region, came together to clean a black spot near the Neelkanth Taxi Stand, a key area for pilgrims embarking on their yatra to the temple, and home to the annual Kanwad Mela. There years of trash were lifted by the zeal and enthusiasm of these young students, leaving the nearby stream that flows into Mother Ganga, clean and free-flowing.

The cleanup effort was complemented by a rally, raising awareness about keeping our waterways clean, with special blessings from Pujya Swamiji and message from the Honble Sub District Magistrate Shri Chatarsingh Chauhan Ji. This joint initiative beautifully highlighted how, by working together, we can truly be the change we wish to see in the world.

In addition, a special rally with the Tiranga was organized, with Rishikumars from the Parmarth Gurukul joining Pujya Swamiji and Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji in a message of national pride. They pledged to uphold the values of cleanliness and service to the nation by singing the Swachh Bharat theme song ‘Swachhmavijayte’, vowing to instill ‘swachhata’ as a ‘sanskar’ and ‘swabhav’—a natural part of life.

This collective effort was a beautiful testament to how Swachh Bharat can be achieved through unity, awareness, and commitment to cleanliness as a fundamental value. More than two hundred students took part in the clean up and rally, whereas more than one thousand people were impacted by this message with the evening, world famous Ganga Aarti being especially dedicated to this theme and livestreamed across the Ashram’s social media platforms to inspire and encourage countless more to be the change they wish to see.

Officials and staff from the Forest Department, students from the Swargashram Trust Sanskrit School, Principal, Acharya Sandeep Shastri, EO Shri Deepak Sharma Ji, Acharya Deepak Sharma, sevaks and representatives from the Taxi Union also participated in the event.

भारत के माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी जी के मार्गदर्शन व नेतृत्व में भारत सरकार ने स्वच्छता और देशभक्ति का अनुपम संगम हो रहा है। इस हेतु “सलाम तिरंगा – स्वच्छता का उत्सव” अभियान की अद्भुत शुरूआत की गयी। 2 अक्टूबर महात्मा गांधी जी की जयंती तक चलने वाले इस अभियान के अन्तर्गत परमार्थ निकेतन में प्रतिदिन स्वच्छता और देशभक्ति को समर्पित विभिन्न गतिविधियों का आयोजन स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी और साध्वी भगवती सरस्वती जी के पावन सान्निध्य में किया जा रहा है ताकि जनसमुदाय को स्वच्छता के प्रति जागरूक करने के साथ ही स्वच्छता कि लिये प्रेरित भी किया जाये।

“सलाम तिरंगा – स्वच्छता का उत्सव” के माध्यम से अपने घरों, मोहल्लों और सार्वजनिक स्थलों की सफाई के साथ ही तिरंगे के प्रति सम्मान और देशभक्ति की भावना के साथ देश के प्रति अपनी श्रद्धा व्यक्त करने का अनुपम अभियान है।

परमार्थ निकेतन के अध्यक्ष स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी ने कहा कि आईये हम सभी मिलकर महात्मा गांधी जी के स्वच्छता के सपने को साकार करने की दिशा में एक कदम आगे बढ़ायें। हम सब मिलकर इस अभियान को सफल बनाएं और अपने देश को स्वच्छ और सुंदर बनाएं।

स्वामी जी ने कहा कि स्वच्छता न केवल व्यक्तिगत स्तर पर बल्कि सामूहिक और राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी महत्वपूर्ण है जो हमारे जीवन की गुणवत्ता को सुधारने में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती है। स्वच्छता, केवल बाहरी सफाई तक सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि यह हमारे मानसिक और भावनात्मक स्वास्थ्य के लिए भी महत्वपूर्ण है।

स्वच्छ भारत मिशन की 10वीं वर्षगांठ पर आयोजित स्वच्छता ही सेवा 2024 अभियान एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है जो हमें सिखाता है कि देश हमें सबकुछ देता है, और हमें भी तो कुछ देना सीखे।

स्वामी जी ने कहा कि स्वच्छता, सच्चाई और ऊचाँई जीवन के तीन पिलर हैं इन्हीं पिलरों के आधार पर हम महात्मा गांधी जी की विरासत को सम्भाल कर रख सकते हैं। स्वच्छता के माध्यम से हम अपने समाज को भी स्वस्थ और खुशहाल बना सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि बेहतर साफ-सफाई से ही आदर्श जीवनशैली, आदर्श ग्राम और आदर्श शहरों का निर्माण सम्भव है।

हमें अपने कल्चर, नेचर और फ्यूचर को बचाने के लिये मिलकर कार्य करना होगा और अपने देश व धरा को स्वच्छ व सुन्दर बनाये रखना होगा।

श्री राजेश झा और उनकी पूरी टीम में पूज्य स्वामी जी से विनम्र आग्रह किया कि सलाम तिरंगा – स्वच्छता का उत्सव के साथ इस तिरंगा यात्रा को अपना आशीर्वाद व मार्गदर्शन प्रदान करें ताकि हर घर, हर घाट पर स्वच्छता व तिरंगा हो। उन्होंने कहा कि पूज्य स्वामी जी के मार्गदर्शन में इस यात्रा को राष्ट्रीय स्वरूप प्रदान किया जा सकता है।
